In most cases, divorce is not brought on by a simple misdeed, but rather a continuing pattern of actions or one act that is highly detrimental to the relationship. Oftentimes the detrimental act falls into one of the three A's: adultery, abuse or addiction. When it comes to a lingering pattern of actions that leads to a divorce, the reason can vary drastically from couple to couple. These types of situations are often considered 'deal breakers' for people and every person at every stage of their life seems to have a few.
Recently a celebrity divorce hit the news between two unlikely personalities. The marriage of Seal and Heidi Klum has publically triumphed for seven years amongst short-lived Hollywood marriages. What was the deal breaker? According to those close to Klum, it was Seal's temper. It appears the lack of control on Seal's part has affected not only Klum, but their four children who are all under 7 years old.
The couple's relatively long marriage, compared to other Hollywood twosomes, was highlighted with yearly vow renewals and a significant amount of public displays of affection.
According to a psychoanalyst, when it comes to deal breakers that lead to divorce, an extremely independent and inflexible woman tops the chart for men. That's up there with a woman who doesn't take care of her appearance. For woman, the most common deal breakers are men without a plan, lying or cheating, and men who are too cheap. Whatever the reason, divorce is usually not a hasty decision and is often a difficult one to make.
